Intuitive Weaving | The Basics & Beyond Rated 5.00 out of 5 based on 2 customer ratings (2 customer reviews) $125.00 Learn to Weave! Select a date from the drop-down menu. Join us for an afternoon of fiber friendship and camaraderie. Weaving is an ancient craft; it shelters and clothes as well as adorns our spaces, adding texture, color, design and inspiration to our lives. And it is the actual process of weaving, along with selecting fibers, natural objects; guiding weft through the vertical foundation of warp strings; creating pattern/texture as the process unfolds…these steps continue to connect us with the past, and more importantly, with ourselves. Join in this weaving workshop as we weave intuitively and work together in a space of creativity and openness. Instructor Jeanine Ertl will provide guidance in a variety of weaving techniques and will surround you with warped looms to work on, tools to learn with, natural fibers, and foraged and gathered natural objects to incorporate into your weavings. Feel free to bring your own items to weave into your piece, especially if there are any fibers/yarns, stones/crystals, shells, leaves/grasses, etc. that you’d like to experiment with. Each weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind woven textile. We’ll have rods on hand for those who would like to adapt their pieces into wall hangings. And, if you find that you’re in love with the practice, you’ll have an option to purchase the loom you are working with, as well as additional fiber and tools to continue at home. Come explore mindfully making in a space of creativity & harmony with others. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to unlock their creativity for an afternoon of hands-on fiber fun, creating in a grounding space while making a one-of-a-kind, take-home woven piece. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Always interested in finding ways to add harmony, beauty and depth to my life and space, my journey with fiber and textiles began as a child. I adored piles of colorful yarn and fabric. I had always felt, that in some other life, I’d been someone who breathed life into these mediums. As my path wound its way, I fell in love with the nature of story and pursued Literature & Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. After Peace Corps service in a tiny village in the Amazon Rainforest, I returned to California and spent the next decade working, starting a family, and eventually, exploring fiber arts. I learned to weave at a Cistercian monastery on the Lost Coast of California, and quickly found my life-long passion. I am nurtured, connected and aligned while weaving. And Intuitive Weaving, as I call it, has been a place of unpacking emotions; subconsciously discovering new frontiers; understanding intertwinement; and learning to be gracious, not just with the world, but with myself. My small business, ANINI Designs, now specializes in offering a variety of craft supplies — natural dyes, natural fiber dyeables, and handwoven &/or hand-dyed textiles. I enjoy creating a sustainable, eco-friendly, inspiring future of mindfully making, exploring and teaching these craft mediums to you. – Jeanine Ertl, Owner, Weaver, Natural Dyer & Educator at ANINI Designs 2 reviews for Intuitive Weaving | The Basics & Beyond Rated 5 out of 5 J.G.
