Bundle Dye Workshop New Date to be Announced! Select a date from the drop-down menu. In this 2-hour workshop, explore eco-bundle dye, the art of infusing natural pigments onto fibers. Join fiber artist Jeanine Ertl and share in the ephemeral, mindful and magical beauty of this serendipitous dye process. You will learn about the gentle, fleeting nature of a diverse array of botanical and kitchen dyes while completing the process from start to finish—mordanting bundling, steaming and finishing. Each student will create a one-of-a kind silk or cotton square or scarf. Colors will shift and change before your eyes as you place natural dyestuffs, steam, unroll, and enjoy! And while bundles steam, we will talk about exploring the potential dyes in our homes, gardens and local area. Students are welcome to bring in their favorite flowers to explore using in your bundle. Each participant will leave with a booklet on the Eco-Bundle Dye process and ingredients, as well as a bundle-dyed fabric, and a gorgeous memory of a Spring-filled bounty of color and fragrance. Ages 10+ years welcome, or 8+ years with an adult. If adult and child would like to make their own pieces, please purchase two spaces. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Always interested in finding ways to add harmony, beauty and depth to my life and space, my journey with fiber and textiles began as a child. I adored piles of colorful yarn and fabric. I had always felt, that in some other life, I’d been someone who breathed life into these mediums. As my path wound its way, I fell in love with the nature of story and pursued Literature & Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley. After Peace Corps service in a tiny village in the Amazon Rainforest, I returned to California and spent the next decade working, starting a family, and eventually, exploring fiber arts. I learned to weave at a Cistercian monastery on the Lost Coast of California, and quickly found my life-long passion. I am nurtured, connected and aligned while weaving. And Intuitive Weaving, as I call it, has been a place of unpacking emotions; subconsciously discovering new frontiers; understanding intertwinement; and learning to be gracious, not just with the world, but with myself. My small business, ANINI Designs, now specializes in offering a variety of craft supplies — natural dyes, natural fiber dyeables, and handwoven &/or hand-dyed textiles. I enjoy creating a sustainable, eco-friendly, inspiring future of mindfully making, exploring and teaching these craft mediums to you. – Jeanine Ertl, Owner, Weaver, Natural Dyer & Educator at ANINI Designs Reviews There are no reviews yet.
