Ages 6-12 welcome!

In this month-long series, kids learn a wide variety of traditional crafts from professional artist-educators. Creating with one’s hands and imagination with thoughtful and engaging crafts allows your child to express themselves in a creative way. They’ll build fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and grow an understanding of a variety of materials from textiles and clay to wood. This nurturing learning environment makes space for each child to develop their own unique artistic style. Projects encourage problem solving through imaginative and innovative ways, using foundations in the craft realm: wood, fiber, clay, paper, found objects, and glass. Young students will make beautiful pieces to take home over the course of the series.

The variety of mediums teach dexterity using safe materials. Each project encourages craftsmanship, follow-through, and material exploration. Art projects are switched up monthly, so repeat students are welcome and encouraged!

Drop-ins are welcome! Is your child curious about taking this class? Choose ‘Drop In Date’ from the drop-down menu (please purchase 48 hours in advance so we can have supplies ready) and tell us which date you’re child will come in the Notes section at checkout.

San Diego Craft Collective, 2590 Truxtun Rd., Studio 106, SD 92106 • 619.273.3235 • make@sandiegocraft.org

This class series moves from indoors to outdoors depending on the craft activity, so we suggest:

• Dress in layers, bring a jacket, hat, apply sunscreen (if needed) so your child can adjust to the weather or the studio temperature.
• Bring water in a refillable bottle.
• Wear closed-toe shoes. Dropping tools on feet really hurts!
• Dress your child in comfortable clothes that can get messy.

DIRECTIONS: Located in Liberty Station’s Arts District, you can find our studio at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Bldg 176) at the corner of Roosevelt & Truxtun, next to The Lot movie theater. There is plenty of free parking. Parking Lot Q is behind our studio — enter via the driveway off Dewey. Across the street in the Vons parking lot, it is also free. If you can’t find us, call or text 619.273.3235.

CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another class.

REFUNDS: No refunds for tardiness or no-shows. For a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), you must cancel 7 days before the start of the class. After 7 days, we cannot offer refunds, as materials and supplies have already been purchased.

TRANSFERS: You may transfer your enrollment spot to someone else, but transfers must happen before the series begins, and a transfer is for the whole series. Please email us to let us know who’s coming.

INTEREST LIST: If a class is full or you would like to be notified of future offerings, join our Interest List to be notified when new dates or spaces are available.
