Learn to make a stained glass flower in this unique 2-hour stained glass workshop!

Beginners are welcome in this introductory stained glass class. Each student will create a simple one-piece flower pattern while learning to safely handle, cut and grind glass; apply copper foil; and learn soldering techniques. After your first flower is completed you may continue making as many flowers as time allows. You may also like to explore creating a two or three-piece flower pattern that will be available.

Glass is included in the class price and all tools are supplied.
Material fee: $5 payable to the instructor at the start of the workshop.

No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome.

This workshop is held outdoors, so we suggest:
• Dress in layers, bring a jacket, hat, etc. so you can adjust to the weather.
• Bring water/beverage and a snack if you need to be comfortable.
• Bring an apron or wear comfortable clothes that can get messy.

DIRECTIONS: Located in Liberty Station’s Arts District, you can find our studio at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Bldg 176) at the corner of Roosevelt & Truxtun, next to The Lot movie theater. There is plenty of free parking. Parking Lot Q is behind our studio — enter via the driveway off Dewey. Across the street in the Vons parking lot, it is also free. If you can’t find us, call or text 619.273.3235.

CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another class. 

REFUNDS: No refunds for tardiness or no-shows. No make-up days. For a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), please cancel 7 days before the start of the class.  After 7 days, we cannot offer refunds, as materials and supplies have already been purchased.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
JoeL is a San Diego native who began working in glass in 1996. What started as kitchen cabinet door upgrades in his condo turned into a hobby building pieces for family and friends. A self-taught enthusiast, he continued to enhance his skills and knowledge over the years. In June of 2021 he juried into the Spanish Village Art Center. In May of 2022 he retired from the automotive parts career he enjoyed for 38 years to devote more time to his art. In October of 2022 he juried into the San Diego County Art Mart Association, SDCAMA.

    This class was SO MUCH FUN!!! I loved the group, atmosphere, and fun vibe. I had no previous experience with glass but I am now obsessed!!!! I went in with no expectations or experience but I left with two beautiful glass flowers that I was going to give as a gift but they currently live on my desk and I find it impossible to part with them. Guess I’m going to take another class 🙂
