Fiber Arts | Felting: Wet Felted Glasses Case$95.00 Learn to wet felt a one-of-a-kind glasses case! Select a date from the drop-down menu. Beginners welcome! Ages 14+years! Create a Handmade Piece That’s Uniquely Yours! Join us for this 3-hour exploration of the wonderful world of wet felting—an ancient textile art where soft, loose wool magically transforms into a beautiful, durable fabric! We’ll work with a wide selection of colorful merino wool, experimenting with color combinations and designs as you create your very own felted glasses case. You’ll learn the basics of wet felting as we wrap layers of wool around a resist (a piece of foam or plastic), then decorate the surface with wool yarn, pre-felt cutouts, and/or roving. Finally, using soap, water, and a mat for rolling, we’ll bind all the fibers together to create your felted fabric. Your glasses case will be made in one piece—with no seams or sewing required! Different case sizes will be available, so you can create the perfect fit for your reading glasses or favorite pair of sunglasses. Whether you’re completely new to felting or already have some experience, this workshop is a chance to slow down, get your hands busy, and enjoy good company. No experience necessary. Ages 14+ welcome! All materials are provided. A $10 material fee will be collected (cash only) by the instructor at the start of class. • Military, first responders and sibling discounts: Email us for more information. • Scholarships available: Click here for an application. • If this class is full or you would like to be notified of future offerings, join the Interest List. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Sylviane Collier is a fiber artisan, lifelong maker, and enthusiast of all things handmade. She strives to bring creativity into everything she does. Originally from Switzerland, Sylviane discovered the magic of wet felting over 20 years ago and quickly fell in love with working with wool. Since then, she has continued to explore the world of fiber arts, experimenting with materials, techniques, and new ways of creating. For Sylviane, making is even more meaningful when it’s shared. She loves sharing the joy of making and the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something by hand. “Everyone has a creative spark—and sometimes all it takes is a little time, a handful of beautiful materials, and your hands to bring it to life.” Reviews There are no reviews yet.
