Pet Portrait Workshop$65.00 Learn to Paint your Pet! Select a session from the drop-down menu. In this Paint your Pet workshop, students will create a vibrant portrait of their beloved pet on a letter-sized wooden panel using eco-friendly, plant-based acrylic paints. Starting from a photograph, participants will learn the complete process of pet portrait painting, from image transfer to final details. Students will discover essential techniques including: – Transferring an image onto a wooden surface – Building foundational colors and basic forms – Mixing colors to achieve the perfect shades – Creating volume through light and shadow – Adding final details that capture their pet’s unique personality By the end of the class, each student will have completed their own pet portrait, gaining fundamental skills in portrait painting while creating a meaningful piece of art that celebrates their furry friend. All materials are provided, including sustainable acrylic paints and a prepared wooden panel. Participants should bring a printed color photo of their pet (letter size – 8.5″ x 11″) that clearly shows the face. If possible, please also bring additional photos on your phone or tablet. No previous painting experience or art studies are required. DIRECTIONS: Located in Liberty Station’s Arts District, you can find our studio at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Bldg 176) at the corner of Roosevelt & Truxtun, next to The Lot movie theater. There is plenty of free parking. Parking Lot Q is behind our studio — enter via the driveway off Dewey. Across the street in the Vons parking lot, it is also free. If you can’t find us, call or text 619.273.3235. CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another class. REFUNDS: No refunds for tardiness or no-shows. For a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), you must cancel 7 days before the start of the class. After 7 days, we cannot offer refunds, as materials and supplies have already been purchased. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Emerson Ferrandini is a visual artist and educator with over a decade of experience in drawing and painting. After working as an automotive designer, he transitioned to teaching university-level drawing and illustration while running his own creative studio for 13 years, specializing in live event art, commissioned pieces, and original artwork. In 2015, he moved to the United States to pursue his Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in painting. He has served as an assistant professor of drawing and painting at the Laguna College of Art + Design in California. Currently, he focuses on creating custom portraits painting of people and pets.
