Ages 8-12 welcome! Special guest alert! Instructor Chelsea Lööw is joining us from Sweden this year! Join Ms. Chelsea for fun seasonal crafts and handmaking! Each month will be filled with fun projects inspired by the time of year and the students engaged in learning. This monthly series is inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of slöjd and these classes introduce kids to the joy of making things by hand while building the confidence that comes from learning practical, DIY skills. Each session features a project that teaches specific techniques while giving children plenty of room to explore their own creativity, make choices, and discover their own solutions. It’s a thoughtful, hands‑on environment where kids learn useful skills and feel proud of what they create. The wide variety of mediums teach dexterity using safe materials. Each project encourages craftsmanship, follow-through, and material exploration. Art projects are switched up monthly, so repeat students are welcome and encouraged! For October, Ms. Chelsea has created a series of fun crafts to celebrate the month. Examples of two of those crafts include a light up ghost scene and a fun moonlit spiderweb wall or window hanging. Stay tuned for November and December projects! Drop-ins are welcome! Is your child curious about taking this class? Choose ‘Drop-in Date’ from the drop-down menu (please purchase 48 hours in advance, so we can have supplies ready). We welcome drop-in students at the first class of each month-long series. San Diego Craft Collective, 2590 Truxtun Rd., Studio 106, SD 92106 • 619.273.3235 • team@sandiegocraft.org This class series moves from indoors to outdoors depending on the craft activity, so we suggest: • Dress in layers, bring a jacket, hat, apply sunscreen (if needed) so your child can adjust to the weather or the studio temperature. • Bring water in a refillable bottle. • Wear closed-toe shoes. Dropping tools on feet really hurts! • Dress your child in comfortable clothes that can get messy. DIRECTIONS: Located in Liberty Station’s Arts District, you can find our studio at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Bldg 176) at the corner of Roosevelt & Truxtun, next to The Lot movie theater. There is plenty of free parking. Parking Lot Q is behind our studio — enter via the driveway off Dewey. Across the street in the Vons parking lot, it is also free. If you can’t find us, call or text 619.273.3235. CLASS SIZE: 3 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another class. REFUNDS: No refunds for tardiness or no-shows. For a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), you must cancel 7 days before the start of the class. After 7 days, we cannot offer refunds, as materials and supplies have already been purchased. TRANSFERS: You may transfer your enrollment spot to someone else, but transfers must happen before the series begins, and a transfer is for the whole series. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS: Mother, maker, traveler, teacher, beekeeper. Born and raised here in San Diego, Chelsea Lööw is the founder of Beauty & the Bees, her Swedish beekeeping company founded in 2013. An adventurous spirit has taken her many places in life and led her to experiment with a range of artistic media, from photography and creative writing to linocutting and sewing, but she’s especially keen on beeswax-based products from the hive.
