From 10am – 1pm

For students who have taken “Intro To Stained Glass” with Instructor JoeL, you now have the experience to do a piece of your own design. In this 3-hour open studio, you will be provided with your own work station. Stations will include a grinder, safety glasses, a soldering iron, steel wool, paper towels and scissors.
Students will need to purchase the glass needed for their projects, along with a glass cutter, breaking pliers and materials before class in order to complete their project.

Students must first reach out to Instructor JoeL with project ideas. These ideas, sketches, notes, questions and more can be sent to JoeL at seminomadic.artisan@gmail.com. After approval, it is recommended that students begin their projects at home, tracing and cutting glass so they can start using the grinder to shape and fit pieces to their pattern as soon as they arrive. Please note that some projects may take more than one open studio session to complete.

JoeL will be available for guidance with your project during open studio. This is not instructed class.

REQUIREMENT: Intro to Stained Glass or previous experience with Stained Glass technique

Visit our Material and Tool PDF for more details on supplies and sources.

A materials kit will be available to purchase for $30 in class.
The kit includes:
5 ft of Solder
1oz. bottle of Soldering Flux w/brush
25 ft. of 7/32 Copper Foil
6 ft of Lead Came

NOTE: Students still need to purchase the glass for their project. We don’t offer glass because each project is different in color and size.

Ages 16+ welcome.
