About San Diego Craft Collective San Diego Craft Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit craft education center located at Liberty Station in Point Loma, San Diego. We bring quality craft education to people of all ages and backgrounds through classes, camps, workshops, and community programs. Our disciplines include ceramics, fiber arts, glass arts, woodworking, garden & sustainability, and mixed media. Part-time Clay Studio Tech About the Role We are looking for an organized, hands-on Clay Studio Tech to join our team. This part-time role is the backbone of our clay studio — keeping operations running smoothly so that students, instructors, and programs can thrive. If you love ceramics, have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy working in a creative community environment, we’d love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Clay Studio Management Manage clay studio upkeep, maintenance, and supply inventories Maintain accurate records of glazes, clay, and related supplies Communicate with vendors and staff to ensure supplies are stocked Maintain clay tools in clean, organized, and working condition Enforce Studio Etiquette and Safety Policies Kiln Operations Create and maintain a regular firing schedule for clay programs Load and unload kilns to ensure projects are ready on time Perform and oversee kiln maintenance and equipment upkeep Communicate with instructors and students about firing schedules and work pickup Program & Instructor Support Prep supplies and materials for classes, camps, and workshops Coordinate scheduling and communication with instructors Maintain an organized system for storing student and instructor work Studio Administration Keep studio calendar up-to-date with firings and relevant information Respond to studio-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner Enforce Studio Upkeep Guidelines for a clean and welcoming workspace Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to use a PC and basic software applications Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment Preferred Experience in ceramics, a clay studio, or a creative environment Experience managing schedules or calendars Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups Self-motivated, highly accountable, and a creative problem solver Compensation & Details Pay: $22–$25/hr, based on experience Type: Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week Location: Liberty Station, 2590 Truxtun Rd., San Diego, CA 92106 Schedule: To be determined based on program needs and availability How to Apply To apply, please send a resume and a brief note about your experience and interest in this role to: president@sandiegocraft.org Please include “Clay Studio Tech” in the subject line.
