What is GivingTuesday? –skip to Donate by clicking here– GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity year-round. People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or finding virtual volunteer opportunities with their favorite causes—everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts. Our Campaign for GivingTuesday | Mighty Oaks From Little Acorns Grow This year we’re raising money for our Clay Program. We need equipment to make our classes better and to serve more people in the community! So far, we’ve been fortunate enough to gain 5 wheels for throwing clay by way of borrow or donation, but some of the wheels are in need of repair, and we need more of them for hosting full classes. We need new kiln shelves for 2 of our kilns. We need new tools and supplies for the students to use. One of our kiln needs a repair to the top, and another needs a new controller. Your donation will help us to knock out some of these needs and get the clay studio running more smoothly. This allows us to reach more students and teach more people in the community! One of our generous board members has agreed to match donations up to $2000. We’re hoping to raise a total of $4000 for the clay program this year for GivingTuesday. Mighty Oak Level: $1000 provides our studio with a new ceramics wheel for throwing clay. California Live Oak Level: $500 supports kiln repairs and upgrades. Scrub Oak Level: $100 helps us buy new kiln shelves. Oak Gall Level: $50 helps us buy glazes and underglazes. Acorn Level: $25 helps us buy clay and supplies for the program. As a thank you for your support, some of our instructors have made small gifts to send out. If you’d like your donation to go without a Thank You gift in return, just let us know and we’ll pass it along to the next donor. At the Acorn Level, the first 25 donors will receive a small ornament made by Anna DiMartino. At the Oak Gall Level, the first 25 donors will receive a Craft Collective T-shirt. At the Scrub Oak Level, the first 5 donors will receive a surprise gift from the woodshop. At the California Live Oak Level, the first 3 donors will receive a ceramic bowl made by Melissa Ordway. At the Mighty Oak Level, donors will receive one of each of the gift items offered above.
