Facilities San Diego Craft Collective opened a 2400 sqft studio in Liberty Station’s Arts District in San Diego, CA in 2019. The studio has a bench room with high ceilings, lots of light, 9 operable windows, air conditioning, and private bench space available for rent to local artists and craftspeople. The space boasts a woodshop with high-end and well-maintained woodworking equipment, a small boutique selling handmade objects made by Craft Collective tenants and instructors, and a flex space with kitchen used for workshops, classes and events. In addition to the woodworking equipment, there are 3 glass kilns and 3 ceramic kilns that support some workshops and are available to our resident artists. These tools are kept in top condition and sharp. They are shared amongst workshop participants. We take pride in the quality of our tools! Here’s what we have: Hand Planes Dovetail Saws Chisels Mallets Squares and Angle Bevels Marking Gauges Marking Knives Files and Rasps Spokeshaves Carving Gouges Burnishers We also have a cabinet full of other tools: assortment of various wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, cutters, etc. You’ll likely find whatever you need! Workshop area Lumber and Sheet Goods We carry a small stock of lumber and sheet goods available for students and tenants to purchase to support their efforts at The Collective. Inventory varies, but lumber may also be delivered from one of our vendors with a couple of days notice. Location 2590 Truxton Road, Studio 106 San Diego, CA 92106 We are located at the corner of Truxtun Road & Roosevelt Street in the Arts District in Liberty Station. Our space is at the west end of building 176 (first floor, end of the hall). Our studio is adjacent to the Liberty Station sign on Roosevelt Street. You can either enter the building from Roosevelt Street or through our private entrance at the back (Parking Lot Q) on the west side of the building (accessible from Dewey Road). Parking is available in the back lot to tenants, workshop participants, and the community on a first-come, first-served basis. There is additional parking in adjacent parking lots, where you can park and take a short walk to our building. We do have a loading dock, located at the back parking lot. This is a convenient place to load and unload projects, tools, lumber, etc. this is our woodshop at night
